X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) is an accepted technique for analyzing slag. For the analysis of slag the samples should be prepared as pressed pellets or fused beads. For the analysis of pressed pellets, dedicated calibrations should be carried out for different types of slag.
This report describes the calibration and validation of the SPECTRO XEPOS ED-XRF analyzer for the simultaneous analysis of the Al2O3, SiO2, Fe, CaO, MgO, S, K2O, Na2O, TiO2, Cr2O3, Mn2O3, CuO, and ZnO in different kinds of slag prepared as fused beads.
