Description

Cast iron alloys must be accurately analyzed, identified, and verified to meet the chemical composition requirements specified by a customer or industry segment. The production or use of unsuitable alloy cast iron can carry the risk that the subsequent production process does not run correctly, or that the components produced do not meet the customer’s requirements. Expensive rework, recalls, or total loss of orders could be the result. Mobile and stationary instruments can be used to analyze cast iron.

In this webinar we will be discussing a range of topics around the analysis of cast iron using spark OES, including these:

  • The challenges of cast iron analysis
  • Sample selection
  • Sample preparation
  • The determination of carbon
  • Appropriate selection of the different OES instrument types
